Part 1

Daily Routine Verbs

The actions that make up an ordinary day, in the order they usually happen.

Wake up.
Get up.
Take a shower.
Get dressed.
Eat breakfast.
Eat lunch.
Eat dinner.
Go to work.
Go to school.
Come home.
Go to bed.

Part 2

Third-Person -S — A New Structure

Talking about "he," "she," or "it" adds a sound to the end of the verb. Three patterns: a plain "s" sound after quiet consonants, a "z" sound after most vowels and voiced consonants, and an extra "iz" syllable after a word that already ends in an s/sh/ch sound.

Wakes up.
Goes.
Comes home.
Watches.
Dresses.

"Watches" and "dresses" get the extra "iz" syllable — say them a beat slower than the rest.

Part 3

Adverbs of Frequency

How often something happens — always, usually, sometimes, never — placed right before the main verb.

Always.
Usually.
Sometimes.
Never.
I am always tired.

Part 4

Read aloud as a pair, then swap roles.

A "What time do you usually wake up?"
B "I usually wake up at six. I always take a shower first, then I eat breakfast."
A "What about your sister?"
B "She never eats breakfast — she says she doesn't have time. She wakes up at seven and goes straight to work."
A "And you? What time do you go to work?"
B "I go to work at eight. I come home around six and eat dinner with my family."

6 · Place the Adverb

Add "always": "I am tired." →

Answer: I am always tired. (After "am," not before.)

7 · Place the Adverb

Add "never": "She eats breakfast." →

Answer: She never eats breakfast. (Right before the main verb.)

8 · Place the Adverb

Add "usually": "I wake up early." →

Answer: I usually wake up early. (Right before the main verb.)
